Practicing Portion Control with Chobani Simply 100 Crunch

Y’all. I have a (not so) serious problem. I love food. I am incapable of portion control. I clearly need to always be actively training to run stupid-long distances, because I always eat as if I am about to run 100 miles. This is fantastic when I’m actually training for ultras, because I properly fuel with enormous amounts of vegan and vegetarian goodies. And nachos. And coffee. However, while my body may take breaks between races, my appetite doesn’t. I cannot seem to stop myself from eating all the things, all the time.  You’d think that cooking with only veggies and grains, this wouldn’t be a huge problem. And you’d be correct. Except…

    LandRover – Your Ultimate Adventuremobile

If you follow me on the social medias and were wondering last week if I had upgraded Pokey the Prius, have no fear, she’s still here. I joined B-Metro Magazine and Angie from Birmingham Mommy for a fun-filled night at Jaguar LandRover Birmingham’s Grand Open House. The trend right now is to Craiglist-yourself an old VW bus or Sprinter van, resurrect it, and customize it for the sport of your choice. While DIY-ing an adventuremobile is all well and good, we all know that it’s just pulling lipstick on a pig – the vehicle will still be old and will forever hemorrhage you money. So why not invest up front…

Twers on the Town and the Alabama Auto Show

Happy Friday everyone! I’ve been up since 4:30 a.m. waiting for my baby birthday-stealer to arrive from Jersey, and I am pumped! I have an exciting and terrifying and exhausting and fun-filled weekend ahead—I’ll be doing the Run for Kids 12-Hour Challenge (my longest race ever!) (sponsor me here!) tomorrow, which is why my sister and her boyfriend drove all the way here. Which obviously means we need to see and do and eat and drink ALL THE THINGS while they’re in town! Natalie and I planned each meal down to the last detail weeks and weeks ago, because, food. This afternoon we’ll be playing at the Alabama Auto Show with B-Metro and the…

    Live Life like Left Shark

The Super Bowl Halftime Show. How incredible was it? If you didn’t see it, go and watch it right this moment, then scurry on back here. Done? Good. So many spectacular things happened—Katy Perry on a lion, themed costumes to match every song, the return of Missy Elliott, dancers and props worthy of an Olympics ceremony, and fireworks. Trippy, huh? But despite all the dazzle pulling your attention in different directions, one star shined brighter than the rest. Not Katy, not meh-looking Tom Brady, not the dancing beach balls. Left Shark. My new hero and spirit animal. Poor Left Shark. He clearly missed dress rehearsal. Or showed up, but didn’t quite master…

Live From The Athleta Red Carpet

Last Tuesday (yes I’m late—no Internet is peaceful in theory, annoying in real life) I had the pleasure of live broadcasting the grand opening of Athleta in Birmingham as part of the B Metro blog team. Chances are if you follow me on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram, you saw my posts. Chances are greater that those who follow me on the social medias are no longer reading my blog. Or my friends. #Ikid #ornot Athleta’s party was hosted by B Metro Magazine—they helped generate hype for the grand opening, offered food and wine, and got Lisa, Abby, and me to help promote the event in real time. I had obviously heard of…
